MY BUSINESS. As a mum of 3 - Finding the time to hunt for something unique and that extra bit special can be difficult. So that's where the idea for the Cuddly Cosy Baby website came.
Our Bright Educational Toys have proved extremely popular as they provide great stimulus for children of all ages.
Our aim is to provide an eclectic range of Quality products that are that little bit different, so many of the items you will find on these pages have been made here in rural North Devon by Nymet Notions.
We sell a range of products at affordable prices, and in all we do we like to offer that personal touch in a technological world. All items are packaged with special thought, so each recipient not only gets a wonderful gift, but a beautifully presented one too.
We only source or make products here that we would love to own ourselves, and we know you will love them too.
The Cuddly Cosy carrier is becoming extremely popular with a focus on Natural Parenting, and nothing can be better than holding and bonding with your baby in those first few precious weeks and beyond.
MY FAMILY. Me, husband Mark and our three kids live in a small farming community in North Devon. I've lived here all my life and I love it.
Husband, Mark is a delivery Driver and Devon FA Coach.
Our Eldest Daughter Robyn is 17 now and doing her A levels, with the aim of training to be a Special needs teacher.
Our Son toby is 15 and doing his GCSE's. like his dad he is a keen footballer.
The baby of the family is daughter Sydney. She is six now and a bundle of bouncing energy. She is quite often known as Stunt Syd and Dangermouse, because of her dare-devil ways. She is also a budding gymnast.
I worked as a designer for a local company for a few years, sampling bags and giftware for well known High Street names such as M&S and Next.
I was already a mum of two - Robyn age seven and Toby who was five - when in 1998 I found I was expecting our third child. After a difficult pregnancy, I gave birth to a stillborn daughter, Molly.
This changed my life forever and suddenly I knew that I never wanted to return to a 9 - 5 job again. Instead I felt I HAD to be at home now with my other children.
Through the grief I began to look at life very differently and found it was teaching me very many valuable life lessons. As a result I appreciated everything so much more. My new attitude was, Why was I so worried about talking to people and approaching new situation? In future I was just going to go for it - some people I would click with and others I wouldn't. So what !! Some things would work out and others wouldn;t. I would then be learning another valuable life lesson.
Since taking this decision I have been blessed with another daughter Sydney, or Syd as we usually call her. She was born in 2001, 8 weeks premature. The name that I had loved and Mark had hated for 10 years was given to her BY THE HUSBAND the minute the consultanr asked what we were going to call her.
I began considering various business ideas when Syd was a toddler, I researched where I thought a niche product was needed and being the busy mum of a premature baby, that is where the Cuddly cosy carrier was born.
When Syd started school I had the time to develop Cuddly Cosy Baby into a full blown business that all the family are now involved in.
So that is where I am now. I have had many, many life lessons in starting my own business and have enjoyed the challenge that it has brought.
